Trinity Staff and Leadership

Tim Etherington

Tim grew up near Detroit and entered the Air Force after high school.  He came to know the Lord through the witness of a friend in his squadron at RAF Bentwaters, England. While stationed at Edwards AFB, Tim completed his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He grew in faith over the years, and was eventually asked to serve as an elder at Lancaster Evangelical Free Church in Lancaster, CA.

God began to call Tim into full time ministry, so in 2002 he retired from the Air Force. He and his family moved to the Chicago area to work on his Master’s of Divinity degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.  After graduation, Tim served as an elder at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, IL.  In 2009, he was asked to join a team that planted LifeSpring Community Church in Spring Grove, IL.  The church officially opened on 10/10/2010, and after serving with the team for three years, Lancaster EFC asked him to return to be their pastor.  He and his wife, Lisa, feel well suited to the serve the people of the Antelope Valley and Edwards AFB. The church’s enthusiastic decision to rename Lancaster EFC to Trinity Community Church reflects both the dedication to historic Christian doctrines, as well as an emphasis to serve the community where God has placed them.

Pastor Tim and Lisa also have three grown children, Ben, Bernadette, and Gillian who still live in the Midwest.

In His mercy, God has taught this congregation and its pastor a lot about Himself, His passion for people, and His ability to cause all things to work together for good.  We want to invite you to learn along with us, and with Pastor Tim.  He blogs (occasionally) here.

Raymy Krumrei

Music Minister/Elder

Raymy came to personal understanding of the good news of Jesus Christ and a life changing faith during his high school years while involved with a traveling Christian musical theater company. It was also in this same group where he met his future wife Jennifer although they would not be married for 11 more years. From an early age. Raymy felt the pull of music, and it has been an integral part of his life in one way or another for nearly 30 years. After a few years writing for, and co-leading the group mentioned above, Raymy attended California State University, Northridge where he received his Bachelor's degree in Music Composition. Raymy and Jennifer were married in 1993 and began their family when son Kyle arrived in 1997. During this time Raymy served as Director of Sales and Marketing for a couple small record labels as well as front man for the rock band Golden Ticket. These life adventures earned Raymy several songwriting and singing accolades, but more importantly gave him a chance to live out his faith in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles. In 2003, his daughter Kayla was born, and the family was complete. Raymy came to a deeper understanding of God’s heart for all people while involved with several short term mission trips to Burma, Egypt and China. Currently, Raymy is teaching commercial music classes at Antelope Valley College. For the past 12 years Raymy has been serving as Worship Leader at Trinity Community Church and he feels abundantly blessed to have an opportunity to use the skills he has been given to serve Jesus and his people.

Dan Stromberg

Elder Chairman

Dan was raised in a Christian home and came to Christ at an early age. He was lovingly discipled by his parents and grew up attending Grace Community Church.  While in the U.S. Air Force, he met his wife Kathy and they were married in 1980 in Athens, Greece. Returning to the U.S., the Strombergs started a family, having three wonderful children, all who love the Lord and desire to serve Him.

Before coming to Trinity, Dan served as chairman of the Trustees (Deacons) at White Oak Evangelical Church in Reseda, CA. The family then moved to the west end of the San Fernando Valley and became members of Cornerstone Christian Church, where Dan also served as Deacon, then Deacon Chairman. After moving to the Santa Clarita Valley, the family joined Faith Community Church where Dan served on the board of Elders for over 21 years, two years as Chairman of the Elders.  He taught a home Bible study once a week and taught Adult Sunday school classes continuously for approximately 12 years.

God put in motion an opportunity to serve here at Trinity, and Dan & Kathy were able to relocate to Lancaster a few years ago. Dan teaches Adult Sunday school and a mid-week home group Bible study. Kathy is involved serving in Trinity's children's ministry teaching a young girls Sunday school class.

Dan and Kathy have three grown children and four grandchildren. They currently live and work in Turkey, Texas, and Tanzania. Dan and Kathy's middle child, David works as a webmaster for a software firm.

Fernando Ruiz

Fernando grew up in a South Central Los Angeles neighborhood to Spanish speaking parents.  He attended Catholic Church regularly, but didn’t fully believe and understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with a loving God.  After high school he joined the Army and drifted further away from the church.  Struggling with his faith, it was easier to just ignore it. It wasn’t until moving to Lancaster that his wife started attending Trinity Community Church that he later began attending with her.  After many sermons and Sunday schools he was convicted by the Holy Spirit and gave his life to Christ in 2006.  He was later baptized in 2013.

He met and married his wife while stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.  They were married in 2002 and currently have 3 children, 2 boys and a girl.  His wife was baptized 2006 and his oldest son was baptized alongside him in 2013.  While at Trinity Fernando has served as an usher, Deacon and currently as an Elder.  His wife is a stay at home mom.  She has also served in the church in the nursery and children’s church.

Paul Frederick

Paul grew up on a farm near St. Louis Missouri in a family that practiced upright morals but didn’t go to church.  While at college he spent time on his own learning about the many world religions, but still felt like God was a far off concept after having learned about their many conflicting views.  Years later, after spending time with friends of his sister and with an old college buddy who was going to a seminary, he got many questions answered and spent several months in a Bible study.  It became obvious to Paul that the Bible was true, God sent his Son Jesus to pay the price for our sins, and that we can go to heaven when we die if we trust him.

Paul has had a variety of careers including carpentry, computer technician, engineer, and business owner in the sound and lighting industry.  He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Paul has been married to Christine for 21 years. They have 5 children, 2 boys and 3 girls, aged 5 to 13.  Christine is a full-time mom homeschooling their children. She is also a skilled linguist who works in translating and interpreting.  Paul works in the aircraft industry; he and his family moved to the Antelope Valley 6 years ago.  The first church they attended here was Trinity and they haven’t gone anywhere since.  It just feels like home.

Steve Carlson

Steve was adopted and raised by a loving Christian couple.  Through their nurture and teaching, he came to know Christ as his savior at the age of  4.  He grew up in Santa Barbara where the family regularly attended and served in Grace Baptist Church.  Prior to leaving for college, he served as a bus ministry captain, youth leader, and church custodian.  Steve completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Thought: Philosophical Studies and English at Liberty University in Virginia.  He then earned a Master of Education degree in English Education from Lynchburg College (Virginia).  After returning to California, Steve served for a time as the Baptist Student Union director at UC, Santa Barbara.  During a residence in Missouri, he also taught at Southwest Baptist University and Baptist Bible College as well as a Sunday School class for 5th grade boys.  After moving to the Antelope Valley, Steve served as an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Palmdale, where he also taught adult Sunday School classes.

Steve and Jennifer have been public school teachers in the Antelope Valley for about two decades each.  Dedicated educators, they recently both completed Master of Arts degrees in School Leadership.  They enjoy spending time with family, including church family but especially their grandchildren, and exploring the magnificence of God's creation.
